Tottenham Hotspur 5 - 0 Newcastle United
Ripped apart. Possibly the only way to describe out latest outing @ WHL. In truth the game was over before it even begun when Assou-Ekotto scored in the 4th minute of the game, which was quickly followed by 2 strikes by toon old boy SAHA. Nightmare. Kranjcar then made it 4-0 and Adebayor finished on the rout early in the second half. Newcastle had little to shout about, maybe could have had a penalty early on which may or may not have effected the outcome of the game. The result comes as a sharp reminder that we are probably still punching above our weight, but we'll keep fighting for everything and were still in 6th position. Out next outing is at home to Wolves on Sat 25th Feb in a 3pm Kick Off. As always you will be able to see my Pre-match prediction a few days before the game (which is always wrong)
Newcastle United 2-1 Aston Villa
Newcastle united today secured another 3 fantastic points, but they were made to work for it, and work hard they did. NUFC went ahead with a strike from Demba Ba on his return from the African Cup of Nations, it was his 16th goal of the season. The first half which saw possession of the ball pretty much even and sometimes uneventful had 6 minutes of stoppage time due to 2 Newcastle injuries and also saw Villa stick in an leveler. In the second half the game was won by a Cisse wonder strike to give the Toon all 3 points. View my video's from the game in the unseen video footage section. They are slowly but surely being uploaded to please keep checking for the videos.
Blackburn Rovers 0-2 Newcastle United
Scott Dann scored the first goal of the game @ Ewood Park tonight. Luckily for the Toon it was an own goal in the 12th minute of the game. Newcastle again were not at their best but but did well to hang on and collect all 3 points. Hatem Ben Arfa was substituted at half time and did not seem to be firing on all cylinders, he was replaced by James Perch. After being under the cosh for most of the second half Newcastle won it with a goal from Obertan in injury time. We will now go into their next game on Sunday 05 Feb against Aston Villa who drew 2-2 against QPR and will have strike force Ba & Ba back ready to bang in the goals. Thank god they are back on Tyneside - we certainly need them. My video prediction for this game is available here
Back to Black..burn
Newcastle United resume their Premier League campaign on Wednesday evening with a trip to Ewood Park. The main question in everybody's mind is will the Ba brothers feature in this game. Well... the answer is NO - unfortunately they wont be available, but will be available for Sunday's game against Villa. View my pre match prediction in this video
Ba & Cisse Heading Back into Newcastle
Tonight see's Demba Ba & Papiss Demba Cisse play their final games for Senegal in the African Cup of Nations. They will play Libya hoping to go out on a high after losing their opening two games in the competition and crashing out early doors. The pair are set to be in contention to play for the toon on Wednesday night against strugglers Blackburn Rovers. My pre match video prediction for this match is available here
FA Cup 5th Round Draw VideoSome tasty ties to be had on the 5th round. Shame Newcastle United are no longer in the competition. Who the hell are Brighton anyway???
Brighton 1-0 Newcastle United
_It is with great devastation that i write confirming that Newcastle
United have been knocked out of the FA Cup for another year. This time
we failed to beat championship side Brighton & Hove Albion.
A game which Newcastle dominated possession proved fruitless as the only goal of the game came from a lucky deflected goal - Mike Williamson was in the wrong place at the wrong time. In truth, Newcastle were awful. They showed no creativity, and lacked any sort of tactical plan to get at the opposition. Stroller Ameobi led the front line without any conviction, although the supply to the front man was non existent. The return of the Senegalese strikers Demba Ba & Papis Cisse cannot come soon enough for us, as i scratch my head wondering where the next goal might come from. My pre match prediction of a 4-1 win to Newcastle has gone right down the pan. Good job I'm not a betting man. | Next Game:V Wolves (home) Sat 25 Feb 2012
